Doug was a former U.S. Marine from 1963 to 1967. He later attended the University of Tennessee and became a member of the Nashville Police Department. Doug and Genice moved to Honolulu, Hawaii and Doug joined the Honolulu Board of Realtors®. He has received numerous awards for top sales and service both in Honolulu and Fort Myers. His sales records consistently ranks him in the top 1% of all Realtors® in the area. Sloan Realty, Inc. is consistently the dominating real estate company in its field, and Doug personally sold 30 million dollars worth of real estate in 2004.

Genice is the Broker of record for Sloan Realty, Inc. She created and also manages Ft. Myers Mortgage. Genice has 25 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, and she managed the Ft. Myers branch of Countrywide Mortgage Corporation for several years prior to creating Ft. Myers Mortgage.

They were very happy when their daughter, Tiffany, joined them as the third generation in the business.
